No audio device in my IBM thinkpad T60? - no audio device in my ibm thinkpad t60 laptop

I've tried to listen to music, what's on my laptop, but I get no audio device in my laptop. Is that something I buy? It is an IBM Thinkpad T60 2005/2006..Got free the father of a friend .. He makes a beep when I sometimes typos .. Not all the time, but this is confusing .. Please help! Is there a setting to change to make it sound, or is it some kind of external audio device that I can buy?
